The Reverend Bhagavan Friend's First

EMPTY CHAIR MEMORIAL
SCULPTURE

Has been completed!

Reverend Bhagavan Friend with his first Empty Chair Memorial
To All Fallen American Soldiers of all Wars and all Services
24 May 2005

In meetings of the American Legion, The Vietnam Veterans of America and other Veteran's Organizations, it is the custom to always leave an EMPTY CHAIR for those brave men and women who fought and died in the service of America country and are not coming Home.

On December 15th 2004, Reverend Friend related to us a dream in which he saw an "Empty Chair Memorial" as shown in the rendering above, sitting at the Capitol Building of every State in the Union to remind all Americans of those who did not come Home.

On Saturday February 5th 2005, Reverend Friend and a number of volunteers broke ground and began construction of the first Empty Chair Memorial Sculpture on his property in Redondo Beach, California. This first Empty Chair Memorial Sculpture was completed on May 25, 2005 and will remain on Reverend Friend's property for an unspecified time after which it may be moved to a more public home.

Reverend Friend's dream is quickly spreading throughout America and is rapidly becoming shared by many patriotic Americans.

Reverend Friend, his Soldiers of the Light and many good men and women from Oregon to Pennsylvania worked hard to complete his FIRST Empty Chair Memorial Sculpture, a sterling example of those that will come after it. If your heart is moved by this wonderful effort, you can help to make Reverend Friend's dream a living reality by your contribution of talent, energy, money and other resources.

Right now, Reverend Friend needs to raise the funds to begin his campaign to place his second Empty Chair Memorial in Washington D.C.

Some called him son
Some called him friend
His C.O. called him Soldier
His kids just called him Dad;
Though I never knew him
he's the best friend I ever had.

 He became an American Soldier
and traveled 'cross the sea
to fight for Right and Country
and defend The Home of The Free.

 One day a sniper's bullet
without warning struck him down
and as he lay dyin'
there on foreign ground
in a fading whisper
his buddies heard him say:

 Tell my wife and kids and all I love
that I'll be looking down on them
from somewhere up above
I'll be with them all the while
sittin in my easy chair
or walkin a country mile;

 So long as they remember me
I'll really never die;
I'm ok, my Spirit's Free
so tell them not to cry;
but do this one small thing for me:

 When you meet
or sit to eat
set out an Empty Chair for me
and I will come and be right there
among my friends and family
and all the folks who care.

And if you look real hard,
I swear that it is true,
I’ll be sittin in that Empty Chair
lookin’ back at you.
